2GIL29 GALLERY 이길이구 갤러리는 오는 9월 2일부터 6일까지 서울 코엑스에서 개최되는 Kiaf SEOUL 2026에 참가합니다. 올해 갤러리는 Booth B18에서 강준영, 마이큐, 민준홍, 서동욱, 음하영, 임영균, 최인선, 홍유영 등 8인의 작가를 소개하며, 서로 다른 세대와 매체, 조형 언어를 아우르는 동시대 미술의 다양한 시선을 선보입니다.
2002년 시작된 Kiaf SEOUL은 한국 최초의 국제아트페어로, 지난 20여 년간 한국 미술시장과 세계 미술시장을 연결하는 대표적인 플랫폼으로 성장해 왔습니다. 세계 주요 갤러리와 컬렉터, 미술 관계자들이 서울에 모이는 Kiaf SEOUL은 전통과 동시대의 예술이 교차하는 장이자, 오늘날 서울이 글로벌 미술시장의 주요 거점으로 자리매김하는 데 중요한 역할을 해왔습니다.
특히 Kiaf SEOUL 2026은 크리에이티브 디렉터 정구호와 함께 전시의 기획력과 완성도를 한층 강화합니다. 올해의 주제는 ‘공존(Coexistence)’으로, 급변하는 기술 환경 속에서도 인간 고유의 감각과 창의성이 지닌 의미를 되짚고, 인간과 기술이 함께 만들어갈 새로운 가능성을 조명합니다. 이를 바탕으로 동시대 미술의 현재와 미래를 다각도로 살펴볼 수 있는 전시와 프로그램이 펼쳐질 예정입니다.
2GIL29 GALLERY는 회화, 조각, 설치, 영상 등 다양한 시각예술을 국내외에 소개하며 동시대 미술의 다양성과 실험성을 꾸준히 조명해 왔습니다. 갤러리가 중요하게 생각하는 것은 단기적인 흐름보다 ‘지속 가능한 예술을 향한 예술가의 치열성’입니다. 자신만의 조형 언어를 구축하며 오랜 시간 작업을 지속해 온 작가들의 궤적에 주목하고, 예술가가 세대와 유행을 넘어 작업을 이어갈 수 있도록 장기적인 관점에서 전시와 활동을 지원해 왔습니다.
이번 Kiaf SEOUL 2026에서도 이러한 갤러리의 방향성을 바탕으로, 각자의 독자적인 세계를 구축해온 여덟 작가의 작업을 한자리에서 소개합니다. 회화적 이미지와 물질, 공간, 기억, 도시와 일상에 대한 감각 등 서로 다른 문제의식에서 출발한 작품들은 각기 다른 방식으로 오늘의 삶과 예술을 바라봅니다. 개별 작가의 고유한 조형 언어가 하나의 부스 안에서 교차하며 만들어내는 긴장과 조화를 통해, 2GIL29 GALLERY가 지속적으로 탐구해온 동시대 미술의 다양한 가능성을 만나볼 수 있습니다.

2GIL29 GALLERY is pleased to participate in Kiaf SEOUL 2026, taking place at COEX in Seoul from September 2 to 6, 2026. At Booth B18, the gallery will present works by eight artists—Kang Jun Young, MY Q, Min Jun Hong, Seo Dong Wook, Eum Ha Young, Lim Young Kyun, Choi In Sun, and Hong Yoo Young—bringing together a diverse range of generations, media, and artistic practices within contemporary art.
Founded in 2002, Kiaf SEOUL is Korea’s first international art fair and has grown over the past two decades into one of the country’s leading platforms connecting the Korean art market with the global art scene. Bringing together major galleries, collectors, and art professionals from around the world, Kiaf SEOUL serves as a dynamic meeting point where established traditions and contemporary practices intersect, while contributing to Seoul’s growing presence as a major hub in the international art market.
Kiaf SEOUL 2026 further strengthens its curatorial vision and presentation under the creative direction of Jung Kuho. This year’s theme, “Coexistence,” reflects on the enduring value of human perception and creativity amid rapidly evolving technological environments, while exploring new possibilities that may emerge through the relationship between humanity and technology. A wide-ranging program of exhibitions and events will offer visitors an opportunity to consider both the present and future of contemporary art.
2GIL29 GALLERY has actively introduced contemporary art to audiences in Korea and abroad, presenting a wide spectrum of visual practices including painting, sculpture, installation, and video. At the core of the gallery’s vision is a commitment to “the artist’s relentless pursuit of sustainable artistic practice.” Rather than focusing on short-lived trends, the gallery pays close attention to artists who have steadily developed their own visual languages over time and supports their practices from a long-term perspective, enabling them to continue producing meaningful work across generations and changing artistic environments.
At Kiaf SEOUL 2026, this philosophy is reflected in the presentation of eight artists who have each established distinctive artistic worlds. Their works approach contemporary life from diverse perspectives, engaging with subjects such as image-making, materiality, space, memory, the city, and everyday experience. Within a single booth, these individual practices intersect to create moments of tension, dialogue, and resonance, revealing the breadth of contemporary artistic possibilities that 2GIL29 GALLERY has continued to explore.

강준영 (B.1979)
일상을 흐르는 개인적인 감정들과 이야기들을 도자.페인팅. 영상 등 다양한 조형언어로 담아내는 강준영(B.1979)은 서울 출생으로 홍익대학교와 동대학원에서 도예를 전공했다. 2006년 경기세계도자비엔날레 클레이올림픽 대상을 시작으로, 아르코 미술관, 경기도 미술관 등 국내 유수의 전시공간에서 수십 차례의 전시를 선보였고, 대만, 중국, 싱가포르, 홍콩 등 아시아 주요 지역뿐 아니라, 영국, 미국 등의 전세계 주요도시에서 전시를 해왔다. 뿐만 아니라, Art Central HK 아트 센트럴 홍콩을 비롯 다양한 국제페어에 도 참가해 아시아 미술인들에게 큰 주목과 관심을 받았다. 현재 그의 작품은 한국 마사회, 국회의사당, 한향림 현대도자 미술관 등지에 소장되어있다. 그는 한 인터뷰에서 “동시대를 경험하며 마주하는 모든 것이 작업의 원천” 이라 밝힌것처럼, 그의 시선은 개인적 특수성에 머무르지 않고, 사회의 이면성과 소외된 것에 닿아 있다. 그는 다양한 상황에서 이뤄지는 인간의 선택과 잊혀진 가치에 대한 이야기를 하고싶다는 앞으로의 계획을 밝혔으며 현재까지 다양한 프로젝트와 콜라보 작업에서 활발한 활동을 보여주고 있다.

Junyoung Kang (B.1979)
Born in Seoul, Junyoung Kang (B.1979) works across ceramics, painting, and video to explore personal emotions and narratives drawn from everyday life.
He studied ceramics at Hongik University, where he received both his BFA and MFA. Since receiving the Grand Prize at the Clay Olympics of the Gyeonggi International Ceramic Biennale in 2006, Kang has exhibited widely at major institutions in Korea, including ARKO Art Center and Gyeonggi Museum of Modern Art, as well as internationally across Asia, the United Kingdom, and the United States. He has also participated in international art fairs such as Art Central Hong Kong. His works are held in collections including the Korea Racing Authority, the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea, and the Hanhyanglim Contemporary Ceramic Art Museum. As Kang has stated, “Everything I encounter while experiencing the contemporary world becomes a source for my work.” Moving beyond personal experience, his practice engages with the hidden aspects of society, marginalized subjects, human choices, and forgotten values. He continues to expand these concerns through a wide range of projects and collaborations.
마이큐 (B.1981)
마이큐(B.1981)는 홍콩에서 학창 시절을 보냈으며, 영국 킬 대학교(Keele University) 법학과를 중퇴하였다.
글로벌한 성장 환경 속에서 다양한 문화를 접하며 다문화적 감수성과 정서적 유연성을 체득해왔다. 싱어송라이터이자 프로듀서로 오랜 시간 음악계에서 활약해온 그는 2021년 2GIL29 GALLERY (이길이구갤러리)에서 열린 첫 개인전 〈What Are You Doing the Rest of Your Life?〉을 계기로 회화의 세계로 본격적인 발걸음을 내디뎠다. 그의 회화는 음악적 리듬과 감정의 진폭이 교차하는 독자적인 감성의 구조를 구축한다. 음악에서 출발해 회화로 확장된 감각을 통해, 그는 대중성과 예술성, 즉흥성과 절제 사이의 미묘한 긴장을 시각적으로 번역한다. 자유로운 선과 대담한 색채, 그리고 여백의 호흡이 만들어내는 화면은 감정의 리듬이자 시간의 흔적으로 작동하며, 예술이 삶 속에서 어떻게 존재할 수 있는가를 탐구한다.이러한 접근은 한국 동시대 회화가 지닌 서정적 전통을 현대적 감각으로 갱신하며, 감성적 추상 회화의 새로운 방향을 제시한다. 그는 이케아 코리아, 신세계백화점, 아트조선, 그리고 여러 글로벌 브랜드들과의 협업을 통해 예술의 외연을 일상과 공간으로 확장해왔다.
특히 이케아 코리아와의 프로젝트 ‘창의적인 영감을 발현하는 공간 (Creative Space of Inspiration)’에서는 작업과 휴식이 공존하는 공간을 직접 설계하며, 자신의 회화적 시선과 감정 구조를 반영한 생활 환경을 제안했다. 2024 년 김종영미술관 기획전 〈어떤 변화: Metamorphosis〉에 참여한 그는, 2025 년 개인전 〈사이, 흔적 Traces in Between〉을 선보이며 예술적 스펙트럼을 넓혔다. 마이큐는 대중문화의 감수성과 순수미술의 언어를 교차시키며, 한국 동시대 회화 속에서 자신만의 미학적 좌표를 견고히 구축해가고 있다. 그의 회화는 리듬이자 감정의 잔상이며, 동시에 예술이 삶 속에서 어떻게 호흡할 수 있는가에 대한 동시대적 응답으로 기능한다.

MY Q (B.1981)
MY Q (B.1981) spent his formative years in Hong Kong and studied law at Keele University in the United Kingdom before leaving the program. Growing up in an international environment, he developed a multicultural sensibility and emotional flexibility that continue to inform his practice. After many years as a singer-songwriter and producer, he began working seriously in painting with his first solo exhibition, What Are You Doing the Rest of Your Life?, at 2GIL29 GALLERY in 2021. His paintings build a distinctive emotional structure in which musical rhythm and shifts in feeling intersect. Through free-flowing lines, bold colors, and carefully composed negative space, MY Q translates the tension between spontaneity and restraint, as well as between popular culture and fine art, into a visual language. His works function as traces of time and emotional rhythm while exploring how art can exist within everyday life.
MY Q has expanded his practice through collaborations with IKEA Korea, Shinsegae Department Store, Art Chosun, and various global brands. He participated in the 2024 exhibition Metamorphosis at the Kim Chong Yung Museum and presented his solo exhibition Traces in Between in 2025. By bringing together the sensibilities of popular culture and the language of contemporary painting, he continues to establish a distinct position within the Korean contemporary art scene.

민준홍 (B.1984)
민준홍(B.1984)은 서울대학교 회화과 및 동 대학원 을 졸업한 뒤, 런던으로 넘어가 유니버시티 칼리지 런던, 슬레이드 스쿨오브 파인아트에서 석사 학위를 받았다. 그의 작품은 2014년 그가 런던으로 이주한 이후, 도시 공간과 건축 구조물에서 영감을 받아 반추상적 형태로 현대사회의 불안을 다루었으며, 물리적 현실과 가상공간의 상호작용을 탐구하는 형태로 발전하였다. 이후, 2020년 펜데믹을 통해 소셜미디어, 광고, 알고 리즘 등을 기반한 콘텐츠의 무한한 흐름을 통해 현대사회의 소비주의 문화의 모순과 현대사회에서 나타나는 정보 과잉이 불러일으키는 비판적 사고 마비와 피상성을 묘사한다. 작가는 한국의 영은 미술관, 런던의 사치 갤러리 등 국내외 주요기관에서의 전시를 통해 활발한 전시를 이어가고 있으며, 영국 Royal Society of Sculptor 멤버로서 활동하고 있다.

Joonhong Min (b.1984)
Joonhong Min (b.1984) received his BFA and MFA in Painting from Seoul National University before moving to London, where he earned an MA from the Slade School of Fine Art, University College London. Since relocating to London in 2014, his practice has drawn inspiration from urban spaces and architectural structures, addressing the anxieties of contemporary society through semi-abstract forms and later expanding to explore the interaction between physical reality and virtual space. Following the 2020 pandemic, Min began focusing on the endless flow of content driven by social media, advertising, and algorithms, examining the contradictions of consumer culture and the ways in which information overload can lead to superficiality and the erosion of critical thinking. He has exhibited at major institutions in Korea and abroad, including Youngeun Museum of Contemporary Art and Saatchi Gallery in London, and is a member of the Royal Society of Sculptors in the United Kingdom.
서동욱 (B.1974)
서동욱(b.1974) 작가는 홍익대 미술대학 회화과 학사 졸업 후 프랑스로 건너가 Paris-Cergy 국립 고등미술학교 조형예술학 석사를 졸업했다. 서동욱의 회화는 재현된 풍경이라기보다 감정과 기억이 응축된 하나의 장면에 가깝다. 작가는 오랫동안 인물과 공간을 매개로 현실과 허구, 관찰과 연출 사이의 경계를 탐구해 왔으며, 최근 작업에서는 풍경 또한 심리적 서사의 일부로 작동한다. 그의 화면에 등장하는 공간은 특정 장소를 지시하기보다 정서적 밀도를 품은 상태로 존재하며, 빛과 색, 회화적 터치는 익숙한 현실을 낯선 감각으로 전환시킨다. 서동욱에게 풍경은 바라보는 대상이 아니라 기억과 감정이 머무는 장소이며, 회화는 그 흔적을 드러내는 감각의 장으로 기능한다. 특히 최근 작업에서는 사실적인 구상과 재현을 바탕으로 영화적 서사와 심리적 긴장감을 직조하며, 인물과 풍경, 기억과 감정이 교차하는 복합적인 장면들을 펼쳐 보인다. 서울시립미술관 난지창작스튜디오와 국립현대미술관 창동 레지던시 입주작가로 참여한 바 있으며, 서울시립미술관, 일민미술관 등 주요 미술 기관과 국제 아트 페어를 통해 활발한 활동을 이어오고 있다. 그의 작품은 국립현대미술관 미술은행, 아르코 미디어아카이브, 쌈지스페이스, 주식회사 애경, 주식회사 넥센, X Museum, 백합문화재단 등 국내 주요 미술 기관에 소장되어있다.

Dongwook Suh (B.1974)
Dongwook Suh (B.1974) received his BFA in Painting from Hongik University before moving to France, where he earned an MFA in Plastic Arts from the École nationale supérieure d’arts de Paris-Cergy. Rather than depicting landscapes as straightforward representations, Suh’s paintings present scenes in which emotion and memory are condensed. Through figures and spaces, he has long explored the boundaries between reality and fiction, observation and staging, while in his recent works, landscape increasingly functions as part of a psychological narrative. The spaces in his paintings do not point to specific locations but instead carry a distinct emotional density. Through light, color, and painterly gestures, he transforms familiar reality into an unfamiliar sensory experience.
In his recent works, realistic figuration and representation are combined with cinematic narratives and psychological tension, creating complex scenes where figures, landscapes, memories, and emotions intersect. Suh has participated in residency programs at SeMA Nanji Residency and the MMCA Changdong Residency, and has exhibited at major institutions including the Seoul Museum of Art and Ilmin Museum of Art, as well as at international art fairs. His works are held in collections including the MMCA Art Bank, ARKO Media Archive, Ssamzie Space, Aekyung, Nexen, X Museum, and the Lily Cultural Foundation.

음하영 (B.1980)
음하영 (B.1980) 작가는 서울 출생으로 홍익대학교 섬유미술패션디자인 학사 졸업 후 동대학원에서 판화과 석사를 졸업했다. 음하영은 기억과 감정의 층위를 섬세한 회화 언어로 풀어내며 동시대 회화의 새로운 가능성을 탐구하는 작가이다. 미디어가 생성한 시각 언어와 텍스트, 개인적인 경험의 파편을 동화적 상상력으로 재구성해 현실과 기억, 상상이 교차하는 독창적인 화면을 구축해 왔다. 대표 연작 《Paradise Series》는 가족과의 관계에서 비롯된 사적인 호명과 기억을 시적인 감수성으로 풀어낸 작업으로, 2026년 AKMU(악동 뮤지션) 앨범 커버 아트 협업을 통해 현대미술과 대중음악을 잇는 새로운 시각 언어를 제시하며 폭넓은 주목을 받았다. 화면 위에 중첩되는 형태와 색의 층위는 쉽게 언어화되지 않는 감정의 잔상을 담아내며, 관람자가 자신의 기억과 감정을 투영할 수 있는 깊은 사유의 공간을 제안한다. 현재 홍익대학교 섬유미술·패션디자인과 초빙교수로 재직하며 교육과 창작 활동을 병행하고 있다.

Hayoung Eum (B.1980)
Born in Seoul, Hayoung Eum earned his BFA in Textile Art and Fashion Design from Hongik University, followed by an MFA in Printmaking from the Hongik University. Eum explores new possibilities in contemporary painting through a delicate visual language that unfolds layers of memory and emotion. Drawing upon visual languages and texts generated by the media, as well as fragments of personal experience, he reconstructs them through a fairy-tale-like imagination, creating distinctive pictorial spaces where reality, memory, and imagination intersect. His representative Paradise Series poetically explores private forms of address and memories rooted in his relationships with family. In 2026, his collaboration with AKMU on album cover artwork garnered broad attention, presenting a new visual language that bridges contemporary art and popular music. The overlapping layers of forms and colors on the canvas capture emotional traces that resist easy verbalization, offering viewers a contemplative space into which they can project their own memories and emotions. Eum currently serves as an adjunct professor in the Department of Textile Art and Fashion Design at Hongik University, where he continues to balance teaching with his artistic practice.
임영균 (B.1955)
사진작가 임영균 (B.1955)은 대구 출생으로 중앙대학교 사진학과 및 뉴욕대학교 예술대학원을 졸업했으며, 뉴욕 국제 사진센터(I.C.P)에서 수학했다. 1973년 문화공보부 장관상(전국학생사진전 최고상)을 시작으로 1985년 스미소니언 박물관 큐레이터인 메리포레스터가 선정한 전 미주 10대 사진가상을 수상하고, 2000년 미국 국무성 풀 브라이트 연구 기금 등을 획득한 바 있고, 2005년 영국 대영박물관에서 <백남준의 기억>이란 주제로 초대전을 가졌다. 최근에는 뉴욕 주 코닥박물관으로 불리우는 조지 이스트만 사진 박물관에서 '20세기 사진의 역사전'에 한국인 최초로 초대되는 영광을 얻었다. 중앙일보 뉴욕 지사 기자로 활동하면서(1983-1988년) 뉴욕 타임즈 및 국내외 일간지와 잡지에 글과 사진을 발표했으며, 뉴욕대학교 사진학과 겸임 교수와 중앙대학교 사진학과 교수를 역임했다. 그의 작품은 뉴욕 현대미술관, 뉴욕 국제사진센터, 코닥 사진박물관, 독일 뮌스터 시와 올덴부르크 시립미술관, 국립현대미술관 등 세계 주요 미술관에 소장되어 있다. 작품집으로는 Destiny(뮌스터 시립미술관), 일상의 풍경(열화당), 임영균 인물 사진집 (안그래픽스), 임영균 사진집(시공사), 백남준, 지금 여기 (이길이구 갤러리) 등이 있다.

Youngkyun Lim (b. 1955)
Photographer Youngkyun Lim was born in Daegu, Korea. He studied photography at Chung-Ang University and New York University, and also studied at the International Center of Photography (ICP) in New York. Lim received the Minister of Culture and Public Information Award, the highest honor at the National Student Photography Exhibition, in 1973. In 1985, he was selected as one of the “Top 10 Photographers in America” by Mary Forester, curator at the Smithsonian Institution. He was awarded a Fulbright research grant from the U.S. Department of State in 2000 and was invited to present In Memory of Nam June Paik at the British Museum in London in 2005. He was the first Korean photographer invited to The History of 20th-Century Photography at the George Eastman Museum in Rochester, New York. From 1983 to 1988, he worked as a correspondent for the New York office of the JoongAng Ilbo, contributing photographs and articles to The New York Times and other newspapers and magazines in Korea and abroad. Lim has taught photography at New York University and Chung-Ang University. His work is held in the collections of major institutions including the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA), the International Center of Photography, the George Eastman Museum, the Municipal Museums of Münster and Oldenburg, and the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Korea. His major publications include Destiny (Stadtmuseum Münster), Scenes of Everyday Life (Youlhwadang), Lim Youngkyun: Portraits (Ahn Graphics), Lim Youngkyun: Photographs (Sigongsa), and Nam June Paik, Here and Now (2GIL29 GALLERY).

최인선 (B.1964) 작가는 홍익대 미술대학 회화과 및 同 대학원 회화과 졸업과 뉴욕으로 건너가 뉴욕주립대를 졸업했다. 현재는 홍익대학교 회화과 교수로 재직 중에 있다. 일찍이 젊은 시절 굵직한 국내 유수의 미술상을 휩쓸었으며 중앙미술대전 대상, 대한민국 미술대전 우수상, 문화관광부 장관 주최의 오늘의 젊은 예술가상 수상, 하종현 미술상 등 주요 수상경력을 독점하며 실력을 인정받았다. 빠르게 국내 화단에 주목받은 작가는 유수의 기관 및 갤러리에서 전시 경력을 쌓은 국내를 대표하는 작가 중 한 명이다. 최인선은 조형적 인간 본연의 무게 내지는 질량을 접합시킴으로써 전혀 또 다른 새로운 물성의 조형언어를 정착시키고 있다고 평가된다. 형상과 추상을 물성과 색채의 자유로움을 유연하게 움직이는 국내 유일의 독보적인 작가이다.
2018년 부터는 경제적으로 힘든 젊은 작가들을 지원하고, 재능 있는 예술 학도들을 후원하는 '인카네이션 문화예술재단'을 직접 설립하였다. 또한 예술 장학금을 통해 후학 양성에도 힘쓰며 현역 중견작가가 본인의 예술에서 얻은 성과를 개인의 이익으로만 남기는 것이 아닌 후배 작가들 또는 문화의 소외 계층들에게 나눔의 미학을 실천하는 그는 예술의 순기능의 훌륭한 면모를 몸소 실천하고 있다. 현역 작가 누구보다 많은 작업량은 빠르게 변화하는 현대미술에 계속해서 새롭게 안착하며 본인만의 조형세계를 구축하고 있으며 한국 미술 발전의 중요한 지지대 역할을 하고 있다. 국립현대미술관, 서울 시립미술관, 광주 시립미술관, 금호문화재단, 호암미술관, 뉴욕주립대학교 등 국내 주요 미술관 및 갤러리에 작품이 영구 소장되어있다.
Insun Choi (B.1964)
Insun Choi (B.1964) graduated from the Department of Painting at Hongik University and its graduate program, and later earned a degree from the State University of New York. He is currently a professor of painting at Hongik University. Early in his career, Choi received numerous major awards, including the Grand Prize at the JoongAng Fine Arts Competition, an Excellence Award at the Korean National Art Exhibition, the Young Artist Award presented by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, and the Ha Chong-Hyun Art Award. Through exhibitions at leading museums and galleries, he has established himself as one of Korea’s prominent contemporary artists. Choi’s work is recognized for integrating the inherent weight and mass of the human form into a new sculptural language and materiality. Moving freely between figuration and abstraction through an expressive interplay of material and color, he has developed a distinctive artistic world of his own.
In 2018, Choi founded the Incarnation Cultural Arts Foundation to support young artists facing financial difficulties and talented students pursuing art. Through scholarships and various cultural initiatives, he continues to foster the next generation of artists and practice a philosophy of sharing the achievements of his artistic career with younger artists and underserved communities. His works are held in the permanent collections of major institutions, including the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Seoul Museum of Art, Gwangju Museum of Art, Kumho Cultural Foundation, Hoam Museum, and the State University of New York.
홍유영 (B.1975)
홍유영 (B.1975) 은 자본주의적 도시화 과정에서 공간, 물건, 그리고 인간의 행동과 사고가 어떻게 변형 또는 변화 되는지를 다양한 설치, 입체 작품을 통한 작업으로 작가만의 미감을 지니고 탐구해온 작가이다. 그녀의 최근 작품에서는 사회를 통일시키고 시각화, 물질화시키는 자본주의의 은밀하고 숨겨진 힘, 즉 그 지배 기술을 공간적 관점에서 발전시켜왔다. 작가는 런던과 서울을 오가며 다양한 형식의 입체 작품 및 설치 작업을 진행했으며 국내외의 다양한 전시, 레지던시, 프로그램에 참여해왔다. 이화여대 조소 전공,미국 아이오와대 조소 석사, 런던 골드스미스대 미술학 박사 학위 취득하였으며, 런던과 서울을 오가며 국제적으로 활동 중이다. 사치 갤러리(런던), MAC(아일랜드), 서울시립미술관, 티나켕 갤러리 (타이완) 등 다수의 국내외 전시에 참여했고, 올해의 작가 등으로 선정되어 주목을 받았다. 뉴욕 ISCP, 서울 난지, 박수근미술관 등 다양한 레지던시 및 국립현대미술관, 데이비드 로버츠 컬렉션, ISCP, 포모도로 재단에서 작품을 소장 중이다.

Euyoung Hong (B.1975)
Euyoung Hong (B.1975) explores, through a distinctive aesthetic manifested in diverse installations and three-dimensional works, how space, objects, and human behavior and thought are transformed and reshaped in the process of capitalist urbanization. In her recent works, she has developed her inquiry from a spatial perspective, focusing on the subtle and concealed forces of capitalism—its mechanisms of control—that unify, visualize, and materialize society. Working between London and Seoul, Hong has produced works in various sculptural and installation-based forms and has participated in numerous exhibitions, residencies, and programs both in Korea and internationally. She studied Sculpture at Ewha Womans University, earned an MFA in Sculpture from the University of Iowa, and received a PhD in Art from Goldsmiths, University of London. She is currently active internationally, working between London and Seoul.
Her work has been presented in numerous exhibitions in Korea and abroad, including at the Saatchi Gallery in London, MAC in Ireland, the Seoul Museum of Art, and Tina Keng Gallery in Taiwan. She has received significant recognition for her practice, including being selected as an Artist of the Year. Her works are held in the collections of various institutions and organizations, including the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Korea; David Roberts Collection; ISCP (International Studio & Curatorial Program); and Fondazione Pomodoro. She has also participated in a range of residency programs, including ISCP in New York, Nanji Residency in Seoul, and the Park Soo Keun Museum of Art.
